Install succeeds, but tests fail on cluster

Postby rrstesiak » Wed Oct 22, 2014 6:48 pm

Hello:

I just installed today version 2.1, trial edition, onto a linux cluster which I am told is a virtual environemnt of sorts, and I receive the following error upon execution of the compiled helloworld program:

***************************************
ArrayFire v2.1 (OpenCL, 64-bit Linux, build fd32605)
License: Standalone (arrayfire.lic)
Platform: NVIDIA CUDA, Driver: 340.29
[0]: Tesla K40m, 12287 MB, OpenCL Version: 1.1

create a 5-by-3 matrix of random floats on the GPU
src/license.cpp:462: host ID (MAC address) does not match license file (arrayfire.lic)
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'af::exception'
Aborted
[rost@node2 helloworld]$
****************************************

Here are my system and compiler details:

[rost@node2 arrayfire]$ uname -a
Linux node2.benchmark.neo.microway.com 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Sep 9 13:45:55 CDT 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[rost@node2 arrayfire]$ gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-4)
Copyright (C) 2010 Free Software Foundation, Inc

I am only allowed a week of eval time to prove my research worthy of a permanent allocation, so I am hoping for a quick response! I have had wonderful support in the past and thank everyone for their help
I've since spoken with the UNIX engineer who runs the cluster, and he stated the environment is not virtual; good news, but they use 20byte address space for network interfaces running via Infiniband..

Here is the first section of my local .lic file for additional troubleshooting information:

FEATURE af_base af 2.1 05-nov-2014 uncounted HOSTID=VDH=002590962780 \
TS_OK SIGN="01A7 560B CB31 F5F9 367F F4FB 5F8B 194A CBAA 3C1E \
0D02 BB04 3EB4 B5AB 01C7 54C5 1863 2ECC 959A 4D16 0C04"

Is it normal to have the MAC address with no colons? The actual number does in fact match the local MAC address of my cluster, and the UNIX engineer is guaranteeing I will see the same MAC every time I login.

UPDATE: Here is the output from using ifconig:

To anyone with similar issue, the fix was Accelereyes needed to custom generate a license file. Problem resolved!

As always, you all are top notch!

Thank You,
