Segmentation fault with linear algebra example

Postby cclements » Fri Jun 06, 2014 1:14 pm

Hi,

I have downloaded and installed ArrayFire v2.1, and have setup the trial license. Several examples (such as helloworld, convolve, rainfall) work just fine. However, the linear algebra example dies with a segmentation fault. The output from the program is shown below:

ArrayFire v2.1 (CUDA, 64-bit Linux, build acac88d)
License: Standalone (/opt/arrayfire/arrayfire.lic)
License expires in 5 days.
Addons: MGL16, DLA, SLA
Platform: CUDA toolkit 6.0, Driver: 331.62
[0]: Tesla C1060, 4096 MB, CUDA Compute 1.3
1 : Tesla C1060, 4096 MB, CUDA Compute 1.3
2 : GeForce 9400 GT, 512 MB, CUDA Compute 1.1 (single)
Compute Device: [0],
Memory Usage: 4033 MB free (4096 MB total)

Segmentation fault

In experimenting with some test code, I have found all linear algebra routines tested so far to die with the same error message. And it is precisely the linear algebra routines that I am interested in!

Any idea as to what might be wrong? I'm testing this on a computer running Scientific Linux 6.3 with CUDA toolkit version 6.

Thanks

Hi clement,

We have issues using Linear Algebra functions on older hardware. It looks like you are using compute 1.3 cards. Do you have access to newer hardware (compute 2.0 or higher) ?

Hi Pavan,

Thanks for the information. I will see if we have a suitable computer with a compute 2.0 or better device to test.
