Can NOT use Jacket in Matlab

Postby huangchao » Wed Jan 04, 2012 11:39 pm

Hi there,

I just followed the instructions on the accelereyes.com, and installed the Jacket on my machine, which runs 64-bit Fedora 13. After installation, I added the path "/usr/local/jacket/engine" into MATLAB (version: R2010b) search path, but I got the following warning:

"Warning: Function /usr/local/jacket/engine/*.p has the same name as a MATLAB builtin. We suggest yourename the function to avoid a potential name conflict."

I ignored the warning, but MATLAB still cannot detect the Jacket when I used the "gactivate" command, saying:

"??? Undefined function or variable 'gactivate'."

Is there something I am missing?

Thanks in advanced!

Hi,

I checked this and it works fine at my end. Please try re-installing Jacket from http://www.accelereyes.com/download_jacket?os=linux.

Thanks!

Hi, Jaideep,

Thanks for your reply, but I still got the same warning and error after I re-installed Jacket (followed the exact instructions from the link you provided). MATLAB still cannot recognize the "gactivate" command. Are there any other approaches I can try?

Thanks,
Chao

Sorry for the hiccup here.

Please make sure you delete the previous installation before installing the new one. There was some issue with the previous installer which has been fixed now. After installation is complete, open Matlab and switch to the jacket/engine folder. Then type 'gactivate' at Matlab prompt. This should print something like the following:

Code: Select all
>> gactivate
Welcome to Jacket: The GPU Engine for MATLAB!

Verifying Installation ....

Is Jacket gpu_entry.mex file found? ....  OK
Is the driver version correct?      ....  OK
Is jlicense.dat license file found? ....  OK

Testing Jacket license and runtime ....
