Hi AntonioMaceo,

Thanks for the report. To move forward, please answer the following:

- What flavor of Linux is this?
$ uname -a

- If you have gcc installed on your machine, what version is it?
$ gcc --version

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. I had installed jacket using sudo, which was my mistake since the instructions don't say to do that. I just reinstalled running the installer with my user account and things are working fine under both R2010b and R2011b so I guess it had to do with permissions.
Thanks again for your help and for a great product.

Hi guys--
Just noticed this lingering thread and wanted to jump in to clarify the situation above.

We released a version of Jacket that had a bad bug in the licensing which was producing floating point exception segfaults for anyone with a purchased base license and no MGL. At the time, it was manifesting in different ways on different versions of linux and windows, and so it took us longer than usual to narrow down and fix the issue, but we did fix the issue within a few days.

Regarding installation, it is okay to install Jacket as either root (e.g. via sudo) or a regular user. It's possible that when Antonio went the second time to re-install that he downloaded a fixed version by then and so the problem didn't manifest.

Hope that clarifies the situation a bit. Glad you were able to get up and running once again. Very sorry we didn't catch the bug sooner.
