Trial license gactivate fails on RHEL6.1 R2011b

Postby bhorine » Sat Sep 17, 2011 4:19 pm

Help!

I've installed Jacket on my RHEL6.1 64 bit machine running Matlab R2011b with an installed Tesla C2050 card. I then got a trial license and placed it in /usr/local/jacket/engine.

gactivate says "CONGRATULATIONS, JACKET IS ACTIVE AND READY TO USE!", but then says a few lines later:

Mex file entry point is missing. Please check the (case-sensitive)
spelling of mexFunction (for C MEX-files), or the (case-insensitive)
spelling of MEXFUNCTION (for FORTRAN MEX-files).

JACKET FAILED TO ACTIVATE PROPERLY.

Invalid MEX-file '/usr/local/jacket/engine/getmac.mexa64':

Error in /usr/local/jacket/engine/gactivate.p>print_hostids (line 174)

Error in /usr/local/jacket/engine/gactivate.p>gactivate (line 109)

It's never encouraging when the trial doesn't even install properly.

bhorine,

I apologize that your initial experience with Jacket 1.8.1 was not as expected. We identified and fixed the issue almost immediately after it was identified. The fixed version can be downloaded from: http://www.accelereyes.com/nightly
It's useful to note that these 'nightly' installers also contain features and bug-fixes not found in the original 1.8.1 installer that you downloaded. Here's some info on the nightly:
http://www.accelereyes.com/nightly/README.htm

I apologize again for the confusion here.

Also, R2011b was released about a day ago; can you let me know how Jacket works with that version?

I had a (record-keeping) question for you that I'd rather not discuss here - I'll send you an email from 'support [at] accelereyes [dot] com'.

Vishy,

Thanks for your help. That fix worked fine. So far, no problems with Matlab R2011b. I'll be walking through the workflow of profiling & Jacketizing soon and will keep you up to date on any problems with R2011b.

Regards,
Brent

Thanks, Brent. We'd be very interested in how you proceed with MATLAB 2011b.
