ArrayFire GFOR in R

Postby ebw » Fri Sep 12, 2014 1:41 pm

Hi!

Is it possible to use the ArrayFire GFOR loop in R programming language?
Is it possible to use another R GPU package in the body of the GFOR loop? For example, there are r GPU packages with specific functions such as running a linear or support vector machine model. E.g. The r package called rpuSvm sole purpose is to create svm models on a GPU.

Example in pseudo code:

GFOR ( i in 1000000)
{
RpuSvm( y ~ x[,i]
}

If so could you possibly post an example?

Hi,

This is not possible. You should instead be using vectorized operations.

Is it possible to to create a linear regression using vectorized operations? And if so, any chance of implementing that in ArrayFire?

The reason I ask is because this would enable a ridiculously fast feature (forward of backward) selection!
