Maxwell support?

Postby mmmcalzones » Tue Jul 15, 2014 2:04 am

Does arrayfire 2.1 support Maxwell? I've been happily using the free version for a while with an older card, but I haven't been able to get it to work with a newer Maxwell card (geforce GTX 750 TI). I'm using Ubuntu Precise with CUDA toolkit 6.0 and NVIDIA driver version 340.24. The examples provided by NVIDIA work fine.

Here is the program I'm trying to run:

Code: Select all
#include <arrayfire.h>
#include <stdio.h>

int main(int argc, char *argv[]) {
    af::array a;
    af::array b;
    try {
        a = af::randn(256,256,af::f32);
        b = a.T();
    }
    catch(af::exception e) {
        printf("%s\n", e.what());
    }

    return 0;
}

here's how I compiled it:

Code: Select all
g++ -Wl,--no-as-needed -I$AF_PATH/include -I$CUDA_PATH/include -L$AF_PATH/lib64 -lafcu -lcuda -lcudart -lstdc++ -L$CUDA_PATH/lib64 test.cpp -o test

and here's the error:

Code: Select all
src/cuda/../common/transpose.cpp:21: CUDA runtime error: invalid device function  (8)

Hi,

The current version was released before Maxwell GPUs were out in the market. We are planning to add Maxwell support in our next release. This should be out in a month or so.

Hi,

You can download the Maxwell libraries for Linux 64 bit from here:
http://arrayfire.com/installer_archive/2.1a-lnx64/

Unpack the zip file and place the contents of arrayfire/lib64 to the installed version of arrayfire on your machine.
